Some residents in care homes do not have any family or visitors so will not receive any Christmas presents. We want to spread some festive cheer to the care home residents in our area
We’ll be accepting donations of Christmas gifts in our reception collection point to give to care home residents over Christmas. We would be very grateful for any donations you can give.
We are looking for items (in brand new condition) such as:
Slippers (with backs)
Socks
Pyjamas
Books
Chocolates
Handkerchiefs
Toiletries
Please donate if you can, we will be accepting donations from Monday 27th November at both Pasture Rd and Chadwick St.

Important - NHS services across the North West are experiencing extremely high demand at the moment – this includes GP practices and the 111 service which are both extremely busy. If you need advice for an every-day illness or injury, please either contact your local pharmacy for help or look at the self-care advice that’s available on-line from the NHS at www.nhs.uk. If you want to check your symptoms, there is an on-line symptom checker available at 111.nhs.uk, which will re-direct you to a health professional if you need to be seen by someone. We operate a triage first system which allows those who have the greatest clinical need, not want, to be given an appropriate appointment. An appropriate appointment is considered to be with the most appropriate clinician for the issues shared with our team at the time of requesting care. This allows us to prioritise patients just as A&E does. Those with the least clinical need (as assessed by a clinically led triage team) will wait longer to receive an appointment or care. It is therefore important to ensure you give accurate information on your PATCHS or on the phone to our team.
This approach is being continually developed and has led to more patients being seen in a timely manner by the appropriate clinician.
However, before submitting a PATCHS please consider your pharmacy first. Pharmacists can offer clinical advice and over-the-counter medicines for a range of minor illnesses.
Our doctors, nurses and staff are working extremely hard to provide services and care and we would like to thank our patients for your continued support.

Repeat medication – do not order more than you need, or order too early. There will then be less problems for everyone.

GP Practices are open 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. Please do notsend a clinical Patchs in to the practice outside of our opening hours. If you need medical help when we are closed please consider pharmacy firstor if your symptoms are more serious please contact NHS 111.
